Where it All Started
Sarah’s Bakehouse is a homegrown Filipino bakery with a heart of gold, and it’s here to make you feel like family. From its humble beginnings in founder Josh Gaor’s little home kitchen to its expansion into a commissary, and now with new stores, this little bakery has only one goal: to make you feel like you’re home.
At the start of the pandemic, Josh started making cakes for his friends. They loved them so much that they told their friends—who told their friends. Soon enough, he was baking for people all over town and had to expand his business. Now he has a team of talented bakers who help prepare each order fresh daily in a commissary outside of town. When he’s not helping out in the commissary, he focuses on product research and development.
It’s not just the way that Sarah’s Bakehouse feels like home—it’s not just the way that everything you order is made fresh daily with ingredients Josh picks out himself, or even the way that he makes sure each cake, each bread, and each cookie that leaves the kitchen is something his mother would proudly say carries her name.
It’s the feeling you get when you see the smile on your friend’s face as she takes her first bite of something from Sarah’s Bakehouse. It’s seeing your grandmother reach for another slice of cake because she knows it’ll melt in her mouth like butter on a hot summer day. It’s hearing your husband call out from downstairs to tell you how much he loves whatever it was he ate last night.
And we know that when it comes down to it, people will come back for the taste that’s baked from the heart.
